Brief Description of Event: The academic session of 1st year MDS students in BBD college of Dental Sciences, Lucknow, commenced on 16th October 2023. The New MDS students were welcomed by the Principal, Dr. Puneet Ahuja and HODs.
The orientation program was conducted on 18th October 2023 in the conference hall of BBD College of Dental Sciences from 10:30 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. The Orientation Program began with the Principal Welcoming all M.D.S students to the BBD family and congratulating them for choosing BBDCODS as their preferred institute for higher studies.
The post graduate students also introduced themselves individually and elaborated on their interest in various extra-curricular activities.
All Heads of the Departments of Dentistry were introduced by the Principal to the post graduate students. The respective HODs also welcomed the M.D.S students and gave a brief PPT presentation introducing their speciality and department wherein the M.D.S students got a glimpse of the facilities, advancements in dentistry and most importantly the rules and regulations about their individual specialities. All the HODs motivated students to be regular in classes and follow the curriculum as per the DCI regulations.
This was followed by a PowerPoint presentation by the Principal in which the M. D. S students were informed about the rules and regulations of Babu Banarasi Das College of Dental Sciences, Babu Banarasi Das University and the syllabus and guidelines of Dental Council of India.
The students were also detailed about the academic, clinical and professional responsibilities as a post graduate resident and how to go ahead with their Thesis/ Dissertation. Emphasis was stressed on original research in their respective fields. The programme ended with the message of hard work, dedication and professional and personal discipline.
